From the founder

Why I started this:
a note from the founder

I spent years inside a FTSE 100 businesses running M&A and transformation programmes. Big budgets, dedicated change teams, and a structured process for making sure new technology actually helped the people using it every day.

Then I’d talk to SME owners: brilliant operators, building real businesses, but expected to figure out AI adoption alone, usually after hours and over the weekend. Usually help came in the form of a YouTube video or a LinkedIn post, promising results in five minutes; No change function. No dedicated budget. Just a founder or MD trying desperately to keep up while running everything else.

Artificia1 exists to help and support those people.

Businesses without 1000’s of people in them, can get the same calibre of AI support that a FTSE 100 business can afford to build internally, without needing the FTSE 100 headcount or eye watering budget to get it.

The business started as a two-person adventure. Within the first year, my co-founder who helped set the foundations stepped back, and I took the business forward with the support of my family, and a little help from my friends.

I’d never worked a day in sales professionally, before founding Artificia1 (a slightly terrifying realisation about twelve months in!). What that means for our clients is that rather than sell them something shiny, or the latest tool, my only focus is to diagnose and resolve problems; which is why all of our services have ROI targets. After spending a decade as a Solution Architect — problem solving is in my DNA, and always will be.

Our principles

What we believe about AI adoption

Everything we build for clients comes back to four ideas.

Skills beat tools

A team that understands how to prompt well will outperform a team with premium tools and no training, every time. We teach the thinking behind the tool as much as the tool itself.

Adoption needs reinforcement

One day of training fades within weeks without follow-up. Every programme we run comes with a return visit: a clinic, a check-in, a fresh set of use cases pulled from your actual business. The learning shouldn’t ever stop.

Return on investment is the point

If we can’t tie a project back to hours saved, cost avoided, or revenue protected, we won’t recommend it. Ever.

Artificia1

Why “Artificia1”?

Pronounced “Arr-tih-fish-e-ah-one” - Swap the last letter for a number and “Artificial” becomes “Artificia1”: a small nod to what the business does, and it abbreviates quite nicely to “A1” - "the best".

None of this counts for much without being honest about our results. Our track record so far: 400+ people trained, £750,000+ in financial benefit delivered, and a 4.8/5 average rating across every training session run. Numbers we’re measured against on every engagement.
